Cooling Electronics
The dark current signal of a detector arary
depends on the temperature (see Basics
& Configurator/ Electronics/Cooling for details).
Dark current levels can be reduced by operating the detector
at lower temperatures. In addition, by stabilizing the temperature,
the dark current remains on the same level. Therefore, some
arrays (mainly InGaAs and CCDs) include a thermo-electric
cooler and require cooling control electronics for its operation.
