Products/ Spectrometer Modules/ MMS Series

MMS stands for Monolithic Miniature Spectrometer, and offers compact design and superb reliability. The choive of materials and the cementing technology are the key to the outstanding performance of these spectrometer modules These features make the MMS spectrometers modules ideal for heavy duty tasks like process control or vehicle-based systems. The MMS was created in the beginning of the 90s, and is still the most reliable miniture fiber-optic spectrometer on the market.

There are two classes of MMS: the classical MMS series based on Si NMOS detector arrays, and the MMS CCD, which comprises a 2D CMOS CCD detector array..

Features:

Design:
MMS 1: core part is thick lens (glass body) of UBK7, with grating replicated on backside, PDA and fiber input cemented to glass body
MMS UV-VIS and • MMS UV: structure made of titanium, grating, fiber input and PDA cemented to structure
• Hamamatsu photodiode array with 256 elements, large pixel area of 25x2500m for large dynamic range

Cross-section Converter:
all Si PDA versions (not MMS CCD):
• Ffiber-optic cross-section converter for improved throughput

Cross-section converter input with approx. 500µm diameter

Cross-section converter output forms entrance slit 70X2500µm2

Spectral Range
MMS 1: 305 - 1130nm (geometrical),
340 - 950nm specified range, below 340nm low sensitivity, beyond 950nm second order effects
MMS UV-VIS: 190 - 730nm
MMS UV: 200 - 390nm (as well available with UV solarization stabilized fibers)

For details on spectral range and resolution please see Configurator/ Spectrometer Modules/ Spectral Range

Integration Time
• All modules: 1.5ms to 6.5s

(at room temperature)
