Hardware, general:
|
please
check hardware (spectrometers attached to electronics
first with AdminTool software, this software tool can
be found on the t5U InfoCD or on the tec5
website for downloading |
|
Non-linearity:
|
all detector
arrays show a non-linearity. This can be compensated by
software as long as this is stable. High-end PDAs maintain
more or less the same behavior somehow independent from
the production batch. This simplifies a software correction,
since one correction can apply for all spectrometers of
the same kind. The MultiSpec
Pro software offers this feature. |
|
Calibration coefficients:
|
the tec5 electronics allow to save the calibration
coefficients to the EEPROM on the Operating Electronics.
|
|
Input illumination:
|
make sure
that the whole input area is illuminated. Most Zeiss spectrometer
modules contain a fiber bundle (cross-section converter)
as input. Not illuminating nearly all fibers may lead
to wavelength inaccuracies (calibration not valid, changes
in ilumination pattern may lead to different wavelength
reqadings) |
|
Grounding:
|
make sure the spectrometer modules are shielded
and grounded properly (MMS series is shielded, housing
has to be grounded), apply protective shielding to MCS
series, ground shielding.
|
|
Temperature Control:
|
make sure the heat dissipation from the sensor
chip is not blocked, especially the fan, note that the
cooling cannot bridge a temperature difference to the
ambient T greater than 50K at max; provide good airflow,
and see that all heat conducting parts have a good contact,
if this is niot the case, apply heat conducting paste
of pads.
